Robert Moss removed his monitoring device after leaving the facility without authorization.

Staff members found the device at a shopping center about a mile from the facility.

When they spotted Moss nearby, he ran off.

Moss started his sentence in early August.  He was sentenced to one year on a charge of theft by receiving in Douglas County and had a tentative release date of Jan. 30.
