One more hot day, then a chance for rain
We have one more hot day on tap, then a cold front will roll through on Friday giving us cooler temperatures and a chance for storms. We cool off quite a bit for the weekend, before warming back up next week.
Another summer kind of day for Thursday with highs well above average. Most of us will get into the middle and upper 80s with a gusty south wind.
Isolated storms will be possible Thursday evening. It doesn’t look like much, but storms that do form in the western half of the state could get strong.
Because of that strong storm chance, there is a Marginal Risk for severe storms Thursday night. Damaging wind will be the main concerns.
The classic “snow on one side, severe weather on the other” is in play for Friday.
The storms that do form Friday evening may get strong to severe, so a Marginal Risk is in place for portions of SE Nebraska.
