Nebraska authorities investigating inmate death

TECUMSEH, Neb. (KLKN)- According to a press release from the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, 74-year-old Phillip Privett died on Friday at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution.

Privett began his sentence on May 26, 2015. Authorities say he was serving a 40 to 60 year sentence for second degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony in Knox County. Privett had a parole eligibility date of April 18, 2037 and a tentative release date of December 14, 2046.

The press release says Privett was being treated for a medical condition. However, the cause of death has not yet been determined. A grand jury will conduct an investigation.
