LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A truck used in an ATM theft was still running when police found it early Friday morning, but there were no suspects anywhere in sight.

The Grand Island Police Department says this all started when officers were dispatched to Piper Street for a suspicious call, just before 4:20 a.m.

They noticed new chains tied to the vehicle, along with crowbars and gloves inside.

It was similar to what they found at another crime scene, so they immediately began searching for damaged ATMs in the area.

They eventually found one at Pathway Bank.  Police say it was missing drawers and the safe had been ripped out of it.

So far GIPD has not provided anymore detail on how the public might help officers catch whoever’s behind this.
