Lincoln East’s Sam Cappos launches past state meet shot put record
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Spartan was victorious Wednesday after setting a new Class A shot put record.
Sam Cappos, a senior at Lincoln East, broke the state meet record – which had stood for over 40 years – with a throw of 63 feet, 9.75 inches.
And along with the new record, Cappos took home the gold.
The previous record – 62 feet, 11.5 inches – had been set by Omaha Central’s Larry Station in 1982.
