LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A disturbance at a bar near Norfolk ended with gunfire and an arrest Saturday night.

Stanton County deputies responded to the County Line Bar around 11 p.m.

Authorities say a group of heavily intoxicated people started arguing, and one of them made threats to start shooting people.

Amid the chaos, 41-year-old Donte Jackson of Gary, Indiana, pulled a gun and pointed it in a man’s face, deputies say.

A bystander saw what was happening and struck Jackson, causing him to drop the gun.

The gun hit the ground and accidentally went off, sending a bullet whizzing through the crowd.

The gunfire “miraculously” didn’t hit anybody in the large, “chaotic” crowd, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies arrested Jackson on suspicion of terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Jackson’s bail was set at 10% of $500,000 on Sunday morning.
