Grand Island family without a home after fire causes $20,000 in damage
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Grand Island house fire left a family displaced on Monday, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage.
According to Grand Island Battalion Chief Scott Kuehl, this happened on West Seventh Street.
When first responders arrived, the crew saw smoke billowing from the house.
All four fire stations in the Grand Island area were brought in.
Kuehl said the fire originated from the kitchen, but the cause is still unknown.
Authorities estimate there is up to $20,000 in damage.
Nobody was home when the fire broke out.
The Red Cross and the landlord are providing assistance to the tenants.
