Husker offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield praises QB Jeff Sims’ leadership

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The transition from summer to fall camp for the Huskers has been a smooth one, offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield said Thursday.
Satterfield, the former OC for South Carolina, thinks the team has made a “huge jump” during the summer sessions.
“I think they had a great summer,” he said. “Our strength staff do an unbelievable job, the player-run practices. I think the leaders on our offense did a really nice job.”

Satterfield is already seeing several players taking roles as leaders, including quarterback Jeff Sims, a transfer from Georiga Tech.
“We challenged Jeff in the summer to really start to make this his team,” Satterfield said. “And I think he did a really nice job, amongst a lot of others.”

And in just the first four practices of fall camp, the Huskers are getting plenty of reps.
Satterfield said some Huskers have already gotten over 100, while players on other teams might not even see 50 reps during fall camp.
“They’re getting better with every single rep,” he said. “And in the long run, it’s going to help us.”
The #Huskers are ‘sick and tired of being sick and tired.’
