$6,700 worth of catalytic converters stolen from seven vehicles at Lincoln car dealer

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a recent rash of catalytic converter thefts.

An employee at A & B Auto Sales reported they were removed from seven vehicles sometime between late Tuesday and early Wednesday.

LPD says it’s a $6,700 loss and there’s $3,500 in damage as well.

Police haven’t provided any details on possible suspects at this time.

Just earlier this summer, two officers were honored for their work in stopping a string of catalytic converter thefts.

City officials said there were 178 thefts in March 2022, compared to 30 that August.
