First snow potential of the season for Lincoln
It was a pretty good run! High temperatures over the last 11 days were in the 60s, 70s, and 80s in Lincoln.
On Friday, they’ll be in the 40s. For the weekend, our highs will only be in the 30s. There’s also a chance for snow. Gasp!
A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for much of north-central Nebraska on Saturday into early Sunday. A few inches of snow will be possible.
Snow is expected to start in western Nebraska on Saturday morning and spread east into central Nebraska late in the morning, then into eastern Nebraska in the afternoon and evening.
Above is what StormCast says the radar will look like Saturday into Sunday. You’ll notice there’s a couple of different swaths of snow.
One swath will be during the day Saturday, then another swath late Saturday into Sunday.
The best chance for accumulating snow is where the Winter Weather Advisory is. But 1 to 2 inches look possible just north of Interstate 80, and up to an inch could fall in southern and southeast Nebraska.
Rain and sleet will likely mix in in the areas south of I-80.
For the game on Saturday, bring the poncho and warm clothes!
Before the snow, we get a cold and windy Friday. Highs will try for the middle 40s.
We may not get out the 30s farther north and west on Friday.
That wind will be gusting near 30 to 35 mph and will have a definite bite to it.
