Another dry, warm week ahead

Not THE driest start to November on record, but it has been ONE of the driest Novembers so far. If you remember 2007 and 2009, we were very dry then as well. We’ve only recorded a trace amount (enough to get the rain gauge wet) through the first 12 days of November, with nothing expected on Monday either.

In fact, most of this work week will be dry, too. Our deficit on the year is over 7 inches. We are eyeing our next chance at rain to happen by this weekend. Models for the next eight days hint at 0.25-0.75″ in potential rain from our next round of rain at this point.

Annual Precipitation

The Climate Prediction Center for November 18th through November 22nd (up until Thanksgiving) hints at the chance for above average precipitation. Models are showing chances for rain Sunday and/or Monday, so we’ll continue to look at that as we get closer.

Temperatures on Monday morning will hover around normal (upper 20s) with light winds. We’ll continue to warm up nicely once the sun comes up, with highs in the upper 60s.

Lincoln Today Hour By Hour

Those 70s come right back for at least Tuesday and Wednesday, with a lot more wind expected tomorrow (Tuesday). Wind gusts still generally out of the south will be gusting upwards of 35 mph on Tuesday and likely on Thursday, too.

Week Ahead

Average high temperatures at this time of the year are in the lower 50s, but we are going to be at least 15 degrees warmer than that for a majority of the week.

Above Average

This largely in due to high pressure overhead, clearing skies and south winds. Again, rain chances are possible by this weekend. We’re tracking a trough as it evolves from over the Pacific by then.
