Man gets 14 years in prison for having ‘large quantities’ of meth mailed to Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man will spend over a decade behind bars for selling meth, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.
Scott Berndt, 54, was sentenced Wednesday to 14 years in prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
From November 2020 to May 2021, Berndt and others had “large quantities” of meth sent via mail to Lincoln, according to the attorney’s office.

Postal records showed that at least 10 shipments suspected of containing meth had been sent to Lincoln.
Those packages weighed between 1.69 pounds and over 11 pounds, the attorney’s office said.
Berndt and company broke down those shipments into smaller quantities and sold the meth across Lincoln.
After his prison sentence, Berndt will serve a five-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
