Winter weather causes several accidents on I-80 in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A winter storm is causing havoc for Christmas travelers on Monday.

Several agencies have reported closures on Interstate 80, including one in York County.

Crews are also at the scene of a bad accident near the York exit at I-80. The road has been closed in that area.

A Nebraska State Patrol trooper said another crash happened on I-80 westbound in Seward County near mile marker 376, just west of the Milford exit. He said two semis jackknifed on the road, causing a partial road closure.

That area has since reopened.

NSP said they’ve responded to accidents from Grand Island to Lincoln all morning.

For the latest road conditions, officials say to check out the Nebraska 511 map before heading out Monday. Official encourage anyone driving to stay extra cautious.
