Winter storm continues for some into Tuesday
Heavy snow and a lot of wind will continue to be an issue through Tuesday for much of central and western Nebraska. Cold air, wind, and light snow will still impact much of eastern Nebraska for the next couple of days, but accumulating snow will be minimal.
Blizzard Warnings are in place for most of western Nebraska through late Tuesday into early Wednesday. For parts of central and eastern Nebraska, Winter Storm Warnings (pink) and Winter Weather Advisories (purple) are also in place. Those will expire late Monday into Tuesday as the storm churns west.
The wind is expected to be an issue through most of Tuesday for the western half of the state. Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph will pick up snow and create blizzard conditions.
Above is what StormCast shows the radar will look like through Tuesday. Light to moderate snow is likely on and off for the western half of the state. Eastern Nebraska may still see some light snow before it’s all said and done.
For Lincoln, an additional trace to 1″ of snow is possible through early Wednesday.
The best chance for additional accumulating snow will be in the western half of the state Monday night into early Wednesday.
Above are early snowfall totals as of Monday afternoon.
