Davis twins excited to continue Husker tradition in NFL

Khalil was a 6th-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Carlos was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round.

(KHGI) – Khalil and Carlos Davis saw their fair share of adversity throughout their five years in the Nebraska football program.

Recruited by Bo Pelini, then coached by Mike Riley before Scott Frost took over the Huskers in their junior seasons.

Now, the Davis twins are ready to face whatever obstacles they will face in the NFL after being drafted over the weekend. Khalil was a 6th-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Carlos was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round.

Both feel Nebraska helped shape them and they want to continue the legacy they left in Lincoln.

“You know without all the wins, I think people saw how much, physically athletic players that we were,” Khalil Davis said. “That even in the wins and losses, we always gave our best effort. We never quit on the team even when it got hard. We were the kind of people that even when it gets hard, we’re going to go to work every day and get better.”

Said Carlos: “It was just awesome to finish out our careers there, especially doing two sports. Just giving everything we had to Nebraska.”

Both brothers participated in field events for Nebraska’s track and field team as well.
