UNL opens new, $115 million College of Engineering building

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — University of Nebraska-Lincoln students are returning to class on Monday to a massive addition to campus.

The University’s College of Engineering said it’s new, 181,500-square-foot facility is now open for the 2024 spring semester. 

UNL said Kiewit Hall cost around $115 million. 

It will not only feature classrooms and offices, but also a maker space for students and staff along with a café and student lounges.

UNL said the new space will focus on enhancing undergrad education.

The Kiewit Corporation helped fund the project with a $25 million gift to the University.

Construction began in fall of 2020.
