‘It’s an eternity’: Loved ones gather as search for Tyler Goodrich reaches three months

BENNET, Neb. (KLKN) – Nearly three months since his disappearance, friends and loved ones of Tyler Goodrich haven’t given up hope.

On Friday, the Bennet Community Church held a vigil where people shared stories about Goodrich and prayed for his return.

The Rev. Darin Corder said Goodrich grew up in Bennet, at a home right next door to the church.

“This is where he grew up,” he said. “And that’s why it hits close to home because this is his home.”

Goodrich’s aunt Terri Deems said his disappearance has left a hole in the family.

“The absence of one person leaves a big gap,” she said. “I think we see just how big of a place individual members fill within our family, within the larger community then as well.”

Goodrich’s best friend, Stephanie Foreman, has not been the same since he went missing.

“This has literally been the worst three months of my entire life,” she said. “I just really miss him, and I wish that he would come home.”‘

Corder wanted to provide a comfortable place where people can be together and share their thoughts.

He said after so much time has passed, he understands how hard it must be for those closest to him.

“When you look at it, 90 days, well that’s not a long time,” Corder said. “But in a situation like this, it’s an eternity.”

He said the most important thing is that people remember Goodrich.

“We’ll meet however many times we need to, if that were to even be every week,” Corder said. “We want to make sure that people know that there still is a lot of support, there’s a lot of care. And we don’t want that to end, ever, until Tyler comes home or he’s found.”

Earlier this week, authorities said they received an anonymous handwritten letter related to the case.

Officials said while it didn’t “necessarily” provide investigators with any additional information, they’re hoping to speak with whoever wrote it.
