Large tree blocks road in east Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A large tree fell Monday, causing traffic delays in east Lincoln.

The tree fell about 3:30 p.m. near 44th and A streets.

A Channel 8 reporter at the scene said it was blocking traffic on A Street between 40th and 48th streets.

The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department had the tree removed by 6:15 p.m., and the road was reopened.

The tree was on private property. The homeowner said that he had reported it to the city but that nothing was done.

Crews said they would have to read the reports to determine why the tree fell.
