WATCH: Thief steals safe from Lincoln Domino’s Pizza, grabs drink before leaving

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man grabbed a beverage after stealing a safe from a Domino’s Pizza in east Lincoln earlier this year, police say.

Investigators are still searching for the man, who broke into the restaurant near 48th Street and Leighton Avenue on Jan. 14.

Police said he knew the code to the store’s key box.

The man then used “some kind of tool” to cut the bolts securing the safe to the ground, according to police.

He then pushed the safe out the back door, where investigators think a vehicle was waiting to pick it up.

Before leaving the store, the man grabbed a drink and put the key back.

Police are also searching for a woman involved in a crash last month at 13th and South streets.

An older Lexus ES crashed into the back of a vehicle at the intersection.  Investigators think the driver was distracted by her phone.
