Patrol identifies Colorado man fatally shot by officers in western Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska State Patrol on Monday identified the man shot and killed by Chadron officers.

Around 10:50 a.m. Friday, officers with the Chadron Police Department approached a stolen vehicle at a business just west of Chadron.

During the interaction, a passenger — 40-year-old Adrian Muniz of Greeley, Colorado — pulled out a weapon, according to the patrol.

Multiple officers fired their guns at Muniz.  He was taken to Chadron Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver — 34-year-old Rosalinda Aguilera of Greeley, Colorado — was not injured.  She was arrested on suspicion of felony theft.

During a search of the vehicle, investigators found an undisclosed amount of meth, according to the patrol.

An investigation is ongoing, the patrol said.
