WATCH: Man sneaks behind counter at Lincoln D’Leon’s, steals $2,000
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are looking for a thief who swiped a bank bag from a south Lincoln D’Leon’s last month.
On March 18 around 6:30 a.m., a man went to D’Leon’s near 13th and South streets and played at the game machines.
Once the coast was clear, he went behind the counter and took a bank bag containing $2,000, police said.
Police are also searching for a woman involved in an “identity fraud situation” on March 29.
She went to First State Bank near 27th Street and Grainger Parkway and made two withdrawals, pulling out a total of $14,050, according to police.
The woman knew the victim’s social security number and their checking account number. She also gave the bank a fake ID.
Later on, the woman went to another First State Bank near 48th and Old Cheney and tried to withdraw $5,000.
The bank was suspicious of the first transaction and was able to stop her from getting more money, police said.
Anyone with information on either case is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
