Harper Murray’s DUI hearing delayed; attorney says ‘she’s made a number of mistakes’

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A hearing for Nebraska volleyball’s Harper Murray, who is accused of DUI, is being moved to next month.
Murray’s attorney, Brad Roth, appeared in Lancaster County Court on Wednesday and asked for Murray’s arraignment to be moved. The judge scheduled it for June 24.
On April 5, Murray was pulled over near Vine Street and Antelope Valley Parkway after she broke multiple traffic laws, police said.
Harper had a blood alcohol content of 0.169%, according to LPD. The legal limit in Nebraska is 0.08%.
She also had a fake ID and did not follow officers’ commands, according to police.
Murray was cited on suspicion of first-offense DUI, careless driving and violating the Motor Vehicle Operator’s License Act.
Roth told Channel 8 that Murray is “going to do all that she can” to make amends.
“She knows she’s made a number of mistakes,” he said. “She wants to move through the process, correct what she can and then face the consequences both here and at the university.”
Murray was suspended for Saturday’s spring match in Kearney.
After the game, Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook didn’t comment on Murray’s current status with the team.
“Hopefully she’s going to finish her finals,” he said. “That’s the main goal right now.”
Murray also faced accusations of shoplifting last week.
“It’s been on Facebook, so who knows how correct that is?” Roth said. “I’m aware that she’ll probably be cited for it, but she’s not being cited yet.”
