On and off, storms expected through early next week
Sporadic showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through early next week. The driest day should be Saturday and most of Sunday, before stronger storms are possible later Sunday night.
First, Friday has started with storms lighting up all over the radar – the good thing is these have been regular, springtime storms outside of some areas seeing flash flooding in northeast and southwest Nebraska.
Stormcast below will run through the on and off chance to see thunderstorms the rest of Friday and additional storms in western/central Nebraska on Saturday.
The severe risk is minimal as a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk highlights southwest Nebraska as a couple storms could be severe on Friday.
Then, that risk will expand and increase for western Nebraska as a Slight (Level 2 of 5) risk for scattered severe storms is in place for Saturday.
But later Sunday, that’s when a stronger, broken line of storms will move in across eastern Nebraska. That will be arriving in southeast Nebraska into early Monday morning.
While this event is still a few days out, the Storm Prediction Center has a Slight (Level 2 of 5) risk for central Nebraska, with Lincoln and southeast Nebraska in a Marginal risk. Timing through the late weekend can be played out below.
The active pattern continues into early next week, with temperatures increasing for the first few days of June.
