LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A downtown Lincoln hookah bar is temporarily losing its liquor license after a deadly shooting earlier this year.

The Nebraska Liquor Control Commission voted Tuesday to suspend the Royal Hookah Bar & Lounge’s liquor license for 60 days.

The business near 16th and O streets was also ordered to close at 1 a.m. and is now barred from hosting after-hours events.

The liquor commission said another hearing will be scheduled if there are any violations.

On April 7, 32-year-old Gregory Little Jr. was shot and killed by a security guard outside of the bar, the Lincoln Police Department said.

Lancaster County Attorney Pat Condon announced last week that no charges would be filed in the shooting.

In a press release, Condon said the security guard’s actions “were justified under the totality of the circumstances.”
