Man injured in shooting in east Lincoln parking lot, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was injured early Sunday morning in a shooting in an east Lincoln parking lot, police say.

Around 12:30 a.m., officers were sent to 51st and Vine streets after a 911 caller reported hearing gunshots in the area.

A 19-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle with friends when two men armed with handguns approached them, police said.

The victim started driving away, and the two men fired their guns at the vehicle.

The 19-year-old was shot in the torso and taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

An investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000.
