Taylor Swift stalker gets prison time for attempted kidnapping of Nebraska teen

Julius Sandrock

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Colorado man was sentenced on Tuesday after attempting to kidnap a 17-year-old boy at a Grand Island gas station.

Julius Sandrock, 44, took a plea deal and pled no contest to first-degree false imprisonment, terroristic threats and third-degree assault.

Sandrock was sentenced to three years in a federal prison with a one and a half year term of supervised release.

In October 2022, the Grand Island Police Department was called to a Pump & Pantry on Locust Street just before 10 a.m.

According to the arrest affidavit, the teen told police he had been hit in the face and nearly kidnapped by an unknown man while pumping gas.

Security footage from the gas station matched up with the teen’s recount of the incident.

Sandrock was driving a Buick Encore was seen slowly pulling into the gas station’s parking lot.

The suspect, wearing a trench coat and latex gloves, unsuccessfully lunged at the teen.

Undeterred, he later crouched toward the teen and lunged at him as he pumped gas, according to the affidavit.

The teen got away from the suspect, prompting him to retreat to his vehicle and take off.

An hour later, police in Shelton were called to a store on report of a suspicious man.

A clerk told officers about a man wearing latex gloves and a trench coat who bought rubbing alcohol and more gloves.

The card used in the purchase belonged to Sandrock, according to the affidavit.

Investigators confirmed that Sandrock owned the Buick Encore spotted in Grand Island, and a review of his license showed that his physical characteristics were consistent with the man seen at the gas station.

Investigators said Sandrock had been involved in similar suspicious activity in California in 2018.

Sandrock was found outside Taylor Swift’s house with rubber gloves, a knife and some rope.

Swift later filed a five-year restraining order against him.
