LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man will spend 10 years in prison after selling guns and drugs to a law enforcement informant.

Jimmy Nguyen, 30, was sentenced Tuesday for distributing 5 grams or more of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during drug trafficking.

The case began in December 2021, when Nguyen set up a drug deal with a confidential informant.

He agreed to sell the informant 1 ounce of meth and two handguns, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The two met in the parking lot of a Lincoln grocery store.

After the purchase, the informant turned the guns and meth over to law enforcement.

The bag of meth contained at least 25 grams of pure meth, authorities said.

One of the handguns had a defaced serial number.

After prison, Nguyen will be on supervised release for five years. There is no parole in the federal system.
