Toxic algae alert lifted for Nebraska lake

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A toxic algae alert for a north-central Nebraska lake was lifted on Thursday.
Calamus Reservoir in Garfield County has been given the all-clear after being on alert last week.
Weekly sampling has been done at 56 public lakes across the state since the first week of May.
The lakes will continue to be monitored through the end of September, according to officials.

On Thursday, Maple Creek Recreation Area Lake in Colfax County was put on alert for toxic blue-green algae.
