Lincoln Police Department arrests two in shooting near PBA
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department arrested two people Thursday in connection with a downtown shooting last month.
Just before 9 a.m., law enforcement arrested 18-year-old Delshon Levering of Omaha on suspicion of first-degree assault and use of a firearm to commit a felony.
They also arrested 31-year-old Bria Carter of Bennington on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony.
UPDATE: Charge against woman in downtown Lincoln shooting is dismissed
Investigators determined that Levering and Carter drove to Lincoln to attend a Sexxy Red concert at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Sept. 5.
As the concert let out, Levering fired seven shots into a crowd of people near Canopy and Q streets, police said.
A 19-year-old man was hit by the gunfire and was treated at a local hospital for his injuries. Bullets also hit a hotel window and a car with three people inside.
Police said Levering then ran to a vehicle and left the scene. The car was registered to Carter, according to LPD.
Bullet casings recovered from the scene were compared with bullet casings recovered in Douglas County from a shooting outside Carter’s home in July.
Investigators said they were found to be fired from the same gun.
In the Douglas County shooting, no injuries were reported. Carter said her gun accidentally went off when it was jammed.
Arrest warrants were issued for Levering and Carter last week, according to court documents.
They are both being held in the Lancaster County Jail.
