Five injured in two-vehicle crash south of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Five people were injured Tuesday morning in a crash south of Lincoln.
The crash happened around 8:15 a.m. at 54th Street and Saltillo Road.
Capt. John Vik with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said an eastbound vehicle went through a stop sign and hit a vehicle at the intersection.
Three people in one car and two people in the other vehicle were taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was cited on suspicion of a stop sign violation, Vik said.

Fire crews from Hickman, Southeast Rural and Southwest Rural also responded to the scene.
The sheriff’s office asked people to avoid the area, as part of the intersection was shut down. It has since been reopened.
