Chicago man who stabbed Lincoln police officer in the neck pleads guilty

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Chicago man who stabbed an officer in the neck pleaded guilty on Tuesday in Lancaster County District Court.
In October of 2023, 28-year-old Simon Kafka was shot by police at the bus station near 52nd and Superior streets after he stabbed an officer in the neck during an altercation.

Kafka was charged with first-degree assault on an officer, resisting arrest and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Court documents show Kafka pleaded guilty to assault on an officer in the second degree and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
Kafka is ordered to appear for sentencing on Dec. 30th at 8:30 a.m.
