Salvation Army kicks off the holiday season with Tree of Lights Event

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- The Salvation Army kicked off its holiday season fundraiser Thursday evening with the Tree of Lights celebration.

The event featured 17 partners and agencies with activities for families such as face painting, a visit from Santa Claus and plenty of arts and crafts, followed by the tree lighting.

The Salvation Army is looking to raise $650,000 this year for families in need, as well as add more volunteers to its fleet of bell ringers.
