Two injured in near head-on crash in northeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two people were injured Tuesday in a crash in northeast Nebraska.
It happened about noon on Highway 24 near Stanton, according to the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office. Stanton is about 10 miles southeast of Norfolk.
A westbound SUV crossed the center line and hit an eastbound sedan, according to the sheriff’s office.
The collision was nearly head-on, authorities said.
The driver of the SUV, a 66-year-old Stanton man, had to be rescued from the vehicle. He was taken to a hospital in Norfolk.
A 35-year-old Stanton woman driving the car was also transported to a hospital.
The sheriff’s office said both drivers used seat belts.
Highway 24 was closed for almost an hour as the crash was cleaned up.
