Seward County man sent to prison for selling meth

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Seward County man was sentenced Tuesday in federal court for selling meth.
Steven Butler, 54, of Garland got nine years in prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
In May 2022, Butler sold about 57 grams of meth to a law enforcement informant, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
A few days later, knowing Butler had a suspended license, a deputy with the Seward County Sheriff’s Office pulled him over.
During the traffic stop, authorities said Butler admitted to using meth and agreed to show them his stash.
Butler unlocked a cabinet in his house, where investigators found a cigar box containing three baggies of meth.
They weighed a total of 15.5 grams.
After prison, Butler will spend three years on supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
