LPD: Road rage leads to rollover crash in south Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Wednesday after a road rage incident in south Lincoln, police say.
Just before 9 p.m., officers were sent to crashes at 13th and Lake streets and 13th and South streets.
Investigators discovered that the vehicles in both crashes were involved in a road rage incident, according to LPD.
Police said the driver of a Toyota Crown was trying to get away from a Toyota Highlander driven by 33-year-old Gerald Stanley.
Both vehicles were driving recklessly when the Highlander crashed into the back of the Crown, according to police.
The collision caused the Crown to hit a tree near 13th and Lake. The driver of that vehicle had minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital.
Stanley continued to South Street, where police said he tried to make a turn and hit the median, causing the vehicle to roll over.
LPD said Stanley ran away, but officers eventually found him with minor injuries and took him into custody.
He was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an injury accident and willful reckless driving.
The other driver was given a ticket for willful reckless driving, according to police.
