Lincoln Police say felon had meth in his pocket, marijuana and loaded gun in his car
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A convicted felon was caught Thursday with methamphetamine, marijuana and a loaded gun in north Lincoln, police say.
Shortly before 3 a.m., officers were sent to a vape shop near 48th Street and Huntington Avenue on a report of a man slumped over in a car.
Police said the man — 41-year-old Scott Enevoldsen — was awake when they arrived, and they discovered that investigators wanted to interview him about another case.
Officers smelled marijuana and saw a “makeshift bong” in the center console, according to an arrest affidavit.
One officer also saw the handle of a pistol poking out from underneath a backpack on the back seat.
So investigators searched the car, and court documents say when they picked up the gun, they found that it was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.
The pistol had been reported stolen, according to police.
The search also yielded two more “makeshift” pipes, a broken glass pipe, 0.8 grams of marijuana and a 4-inch knife, the affidavit says.
When officers searched Enevoldsen, they found 3.2 grams of meth in his pocket.
In 2022, Enevoldsen was convicted of possession of a controlled substance. He was released in June after 15 months in prison.
Enevoldsen is now charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
On Thursday, a judge set his bond at $75,000.
He is due back in court on Jan. 28.
