Nebraska dominating transfer portal, boasting No. 1 Big Ten class

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Matt Rhule and the Nebraska football team have been dominating in the transfer portal this offseason.

After winning their first bowl game since 2015, the Huskers have doubled down on boosting their lineup for the 2025 campaign.

The Huskers currently have the No. 6 transfer portal class in the country, with 16 commitments. They also boast the No. 1 class in the Big Ten.

The class is headlined by 4-star wide receiver Dane Key from Kentucky. Key measures in at 6-foot-3 and has tallied 126 catches for 1,870 yards and 14 touchdowns during his time as a Wildcat.

The Huskers also pulled in former 5-star defensive end Williams Nwaneri from Missouri.

Nwaneri only appeared in two games for the Tigers last season, totaling two tackles and one sack. He will have four years of eligibility.

One of the most recent pickups for the Huskers was 4-star offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett from Alabama.

Pritchett started all 13 games for the Crimson Tide in 2024 and will fill a large role on Nebraska’s offensive line in 2025.

According to 247 Sports, Nebraska leads the Big Ten rankings for transfer classes with 58.97 points, followed by Oregon (50.63), Wisconsin (50.45), Washington (45.18) and Indiana (44.82).

The Huskers rank just out of the top five in the national rankings for transfer classes at No. 6. LSU has the top class with 68.67 points, followed by Texas Tech (66.92), Ole Miss (64.24), Auburn (62.05) and Florida State (59.37).
