Nebraska man’s BAC was four times legal limit when he slid off snowy road, authorities say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities in northeast Nebraska say a man was driving in a winter storm Monday while “very intoxicated.”

About 4:30 p.m., deputies found a pickup that had slid off Highway 57 in Stanton, according to the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver, a 49-year-old Papillion man, was lying on the ground.

The sheriff’s office said in a press release that he “appeared very intoxicated.”

His blood alcohol content level was four times the legal limit, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities said the road was in poor condition.

“Again this shows that Drunk Drivers are present at every minute of the day in every weather environment and tragedies are often just a blink of the eye away!” Sheriff Mike Unger said in a press release.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of aggravated DUI.
