City provides update on several Lincoln on the Move projects

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department provided updates Friday on four ongoing infrastructure improvement projects.

Three of the projects are funded by the six-year Lincoln on the Move quarter-cent sales tax program. The projects are as follows:

  • South 17th Street water main replacement and street improvements
  • Normal Boulevard improvements from 33rd to 70th streets
  • West A Street improvements
  • Eastridge neighborhood

The city said the water main replacements along South 17th are now complete.

In March, crews will resume work on the final phase of street improvements, including installation of permanent pavement markings and repairs to curbs, sidewalks and the concrete street base.

Construction on Normal will resume April 1, beginning with concrete repairs between 56th and 70th streets.

Crews will also replace the traffic signals at the intersection of Normal and South Street.

Work will begin Monday on West A Street, starting with pavement removal between Southwest 23rd and Southwest 25th streets.

Crews will then install a new water main, storm sewer and street lighting at the intersection of Southwest 24th and West A streets.

The West A project is expected to be completed in the summer.

The Eastridge neighborhood will also see a plethora of street improvements.

Improvements include replacing water mains along L Street and milling and overlaying the existing surface.

Streets receiving improvements include:

  • L Street from Haverford Drive to South 70th Street
  • Lyncrest Drive from Eastridge Drive to O Street
  • Eastridge Drive from L to O streets
  • L Street from South Cotner Boulevard to Taylor Park Drive
  • Taylor Park Drive from L to Park Vista streets
  • Park Vista Street from L Street to Taylor Park Drive
  • Park Vale Street from Park Vista Street to Taylor Park Drive
