Lincoln teen charged as adult in mother’s stabbing

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 16-year-old Lincoln boy was charged as an adult Monday in the stabbing of his mother.
He is facing one count of second-degree assault. Channel 8 is not naming the teen to avoid identifying the victim.

On Thursday, police said he stabbed his mother once in the back near 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue.
The woman, 47, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening.
Police said there was a brief standoff with the 16-year-old before they took him into custody.
The teen is scheduled to be back in court on April 29.
