Trio of former Huskers honored as League One Volleyball Icons

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – League One Volleyball honored a trio of former Huskers on Monday, naming Lexi Rodriguez, Jordan Larson and Kelsey Cook as 2025 LOVB Icons.


The all-star program includes a first and second team of 14 total players that were selected by fans, players and coaches on a weighted scale.

LOVB Icons received more than 74,000 votes from fans around the world.

“Through the LOVB Icons, we were thrilled to give fans the opportunity to celebrate our athletes and the next-level impact they’ve made on and off the court this season,” said LOVB Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Stephanie Martin. “It’s been an incredible first season, showcasing the talent of some of the best players in the world who are also inspiring countless numbers of junior players, so we’re excited to see so many fans want to recognize and honor these women.” 

Here is the full list of both teams:

  • LOVB Icons First team
    • Outside hitters – Kelsey Cook (Atlanta), Jess Mruzik (Houston)
    • Middle blockers – Amber Igiede (Houston), Chiaka Ogbogu (Austin)
    • Setter – Lauren Carlini (Madison)
    • Opposite hitter – Annie Drews Schumacher (Madison)
    • Libero – Lexi Rodriguez (Omaha)
  • LOVB Icons Second-team
    • Outside hitters – Claire Chaussee (Madison), Jordan Larson (Omaha)
    • Middle blockers – Anna Hall (Madison), Tia Jimerson (Atlanta)
    • Setter – Rachel Fairbanks (Atlanta)
    • Opposite hitter – Jordan Thompson (Houston)
    • Libero – Manami Kojima (Salt Lake)

In addition to the Icons, LOVB will recognize an MVP and hand out best-in-position awards at its upcoming media day Wednesday.

The LOVB Finals will kick off on Thursday with the quarterfinals at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville.

The semifinals will take place Friday, and the championship match will be Sunday.
