LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Grand Island Police Department is investigating a “kill list” that circulated on social media over the weekend.

Capt. Dean Elliot said the names of seven students at Grand Island High School were on the list.  One of the victims reported the list to the police.

The school resource officer is interviewing the students involved as part of the investigation on Monday.

Investigators have no reason to believe there was a serious threat posed to the students on the list, Elliot said.

No one has been cited or arrested as of Monday morning.

Elliot said this case is a good reminder for parents to monitor what their children are doing on social media.
