LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Stars bounced back in a big way Saturday, defeating the Waterloo Blackhawks 4-3 at the Ice Box to even up the Western Conference Finals.

Lincoln came out of the gates firing, netting three goals in their first 12 shots.

The Stars stretched their lead to four in the second thanks to an Alex Pelletier goal with 14:43 left in the period.

But, Waterloo would close the gap. The Blackhawks outscored the Stars 3-0 the final 35 minutes, but it was too little, too late.

Lincoln hung on for the game two victory and will head to the Young Arena for games three and four.

The puck will drop for game three at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday.
