LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man was arrested after police say he was involved in two road rage incidents on Tuesday.

Grantt Crear, 20, was arrested on suspicion of assault, disturbing the peace, reckless driving and other traffic related charges.

Around 5:45 p.m., a woman said she was driving on 9th Street between Hill and Van Dorn streets when she saw a blue Chevy Malibu driving erratically and weaving in and out of traffic.

While stopped at a red light, LPD said Crear started yelling at the woman.

Crear then inched his vehicle forward until it touched the woman’s vehicle and began pushing it forward, LPD said. The woman’s vehicle was not damaged.

According to LPD, Crear got out of his vehicle and removed his front license plate before leaving the area, but the woman saw the rear license plate as he drove off.

About five minutes later, officers responded to the report of an assault near 14th Street and Old Cheney Road.

A male victim said a blue Chevy Malibu with no front license plate started following him and driving erratically.

According to LPD, both vehicles stopped and Crear got out, walking toward the man’s vehicle while yelling.

Crear started walking back to his vehicle before returning and punching the man on the left side of his face, LPD said.

Once the light turned green, the victim was able to drive off.

On Thursday, officers arrested Crear at his apartment and he was taken to the Lancaster County Jail.

Crear’s car was towed as a disorderly vehicle. LPD said it has impounded four vehicles since the new ordinance went into effect on April 15.
