75-year-old Nebraska woman killed in crash in Otoe County

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that killed one Nebraska woman.

Just before 7:45 p.m. Thursday, the sheriff’s office was sent to the intersection of Highway 2 and County Road 20 near Unadilla.

Investigators said a Buick Enclave was driving south on County Road 20 when it was hit by a Dodge Caliber driving west on Highway 2.

The driver of the Buick, 75-year-old Barbara Brandt of Unadilla, was taken to a Syracuse hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Dodge, a 21-year-old Kansas City woman, was transported to the same hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

According to the sheriff’s office, both drivers were using a seat belt.

Fire and rescue units from Unadilla and Syracuse also responded to the crash.
