Charge against woman in downtown Lincoln shooting is dismissed

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A case against a woman in a downtown Lincoln shooting has been dismissed, authorities said Tuesday.

The clerk of Lancaster County District Court told Channel 8 that the case against Bria Carter was dismissed and sealed.

Because the court records are now sealed, it’s not clear why the case was dropped.

Carter, 31, of Bennington was charged with accessory to a felony in a Sept. 5 shooting near Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Lincoln Police Department said Delshon Levering fired seven shots into a crowd as fans were leaving a Sexxy Red concert.

A 19-year-old man was hit in the arm. Bullets also struck a hotel window and a car with three people inside, according to police.

LPD had said that Levering and Carter drove to the concert together and left the shooting in her vehicle.

Levering, 18, is charged with first-degree assault and is due back in court Thursday.

Another defendant, 19-year-old Kashaun Lockett, is charged with accessory to a felony.

His arrest affidavit is sealed, so it’s unknown how police think he was involved.

Lockett’s next hearing is scheduled for May 20.
