LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man aimed a pellet rifle at three children in a north Lincoln neighborhood on Friday, police say.

Around 8 p.m., officers were sent to a home near North 29th and Pear streets on a report of a weapons violation.

Officers had already been dispatched to the area three times that day as neighbors were arguing over a child riding a minibike up and down the street, police said.

A witness told officers that Troy Longbine, 63, was cleaning a firearm — which looked like a rifle — on his porch.

Police said Longbine pointed it at three children and “verbally threatened them” for riding on the street, according to LPD.

Longbine then put the two rifles inside his vehicle, police said.

Later on, officers ordered Longbine and his roommate, a 47-year-old woman, to exit their home.

Longbine followed the orders and was taken into custody on suspicion of terroristic threats.  But the roommate refused to comply and resisted arrest, LPD said.

Eventually, she was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.

Officers later discovered that the firearms involved were pellet air rifles, according to police.
