On March 20, the teen stabbed his 47-year-old mother once in the back during an argument.

She was taken to a hospital with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening.

When police arrived at the scene near 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue, the boy engaged in a brief standoff before surrendering to officers.
