Around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian near 48th and Sumner streets.
Police said workers were pouring concrete at 48th and Sumner when a Honda Crosstour went through the construction zone.
The driver, later identified as 29-year-old Alexander Hester, hit one of the workers, who landed on the vehicle’s hood, LPD said.
Hester kept driving and the worker fell off the vehicle. The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
A second worker was also hit by the vehicle but didn’t suffer any injuries, according to police.
Just before 8 p.m., officers found Hester and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree assault, attempted second-degree assault and failure to stop and render aid.
