Nebraska football’s Janiran Bonner suffers season-ending ACL tear
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A key piece of Nebraska’s offense is out for the season with a knee injury.
In a press conference Monday morning, head coach Matt Rhule said junior Janiran Bonner suffered an ACL tear in Nebraska’s game against Cincinnati last week.

Bonner has been a constant in Nebraska’s offense since his redshirt freshman year in 2023, playing a multitude of positions for the Big Red.
He was poised for a big year, earning one of Nebraska’s coveted single digit numbers this offseason.

Rhule said losing Bonner is a big loss on the field, but knows he will continue to be a presence off of it.
“It’s a tremendous loss on the field,” Rhule said. “He’s a great football player, plays on all special teams. He’s a wideout, he’s a running back, he’s a fullback, he’s a tight end, he can just do it all. Selfless, he’s a great teammate. I’m sure he’ll continue to inspire his teammates, though, with his attitude. I just know how much he means to everybody.”
Bonner left Thursday’s game early in the fourth quarter with one catch for four yards and two carries for four yards.
